Review
JavaScript over the years has really prgressed into the most used programming language on the web today. Almost every website today uses some form of JavaScript, whether it be used within a server-side programming technology like ASP.NET or a JavaScript library like jQuery or Mootools, or YUI or creating UI components like widgets. JavaScript is everywhere and if you do any sort of web design or development you need to get a hang on it.
There are lots of online resources on JavaScript, and I mean LOTS. But it may take you awhile to go through it all to find what you specifically want. So there are LOTS of books you can get as well on JavaScript, but if you already have a basic understanding of JavaScript, most are way more than you need. When your working on something, you just need a quick and easy way to find a reference on an object or property or technique in JavaScript and this book will be exactly what you need. Download Now »

Review
The Nexus One manual (pdf only) is very good as far as smart phone manuals go. Even so, The Nexus One Pocket Guide is very worthwhile. O’Grady offers lots of tips and tidbits that are not the in the manual. The Pocket guide is an enjoyable read and no matter how intuitive the Android OS is, you WILL learn things you don’t know. O’Grady is a very gifted technical writer and has created a guide that does more just rehash the manual. If you recently got a Nexus One (or any Adroid phone) get this book!
